I have yet to publicly leak photos of my chicken scratch work I call "tattoos" I have been trying to master on numerous people. But I really don't think my ink work can go public, I have to master the craft, and care more on what I need to improve on, rather than brag and show off the ink(majority of people post photos minutes after a fresh tat). But this is something I really love doing, and I can honestly say for once in my "artistic life" that its my...CALLING. So stay tuned for that.
Well, back to the title of this blog (weekly ink), I will do my best to update you the reader (if there are any) on my pick of the week on a random tattoo that I've stumbled upon online, that is right intune with my current style, and liking. I'll try my hardest to find the person bearing the ink, as well as the Artist(who rarely get any credit).

A lucky lad from Sweden got this tattoo done, and payed great homage to Pin-up Originator and, one of American pop cultures most powerful sexual celebrities in history, next to Marlyn Monroe. Betty Page, was a small town southern country bell, who stumbled on modeling when sexual photos even in bikinis were prohibited by law, let alone nudity. She turned to "pin-up" magazine modeling, as a side job to bring in cash for school. Back then bootleggers would open small underground shops, sell small photo prints, and self published magazines to the eager Male American. I recently watched a movie portrayal of her life on an HBO special. Very interesting person, who dealt with a lot, being raped, struggling in a new big city, and dealing with sexism.
This tattoo, is pretty clean if you ask me. The white gloss in her hair, is a pretty hard techniqu to master, leaving the area empty, while surrounding it with solid black is difficult as f**k. Her hands look good as well, few artists can get that on point. Also the effect of giving a see through top is genius. Keep in mind thats not pink or red ink used, the photo was taken obviously moments after the finished product, hopefully the guy took good care of it and it turned out a perfect fade.
Pin-up art has really got my glued, since my time joining the military and seeing all the older heads, rockin' the old school traditional pin'up tattoos. From Sailor Jerry, to foreign tattoos overseas with plenty of stories to come along. I see a new wave of popularity arising with pin-up style photography, tattoos. I really have an appreciation for the painters who redirect a photo, or live muse, to a beautiful pin-up painting. Currently I have two pin-ups on me, and plan on adding a few more to my battalion of bodily bitches.
