My palm grips the shiny recycled cardboard container, holding effortlessly to the six of its stunning pilots to take final flight of death. I walk gently on my toes, not to disturb the young ones as they are brought to higher ground for final inspection and take off. The old women takes them from my hand like an assembly line, minus the loud factory noise. I hesitate, she grins at me, peering from the bottom of her thick framed gold reading glasses, like Santa checking his list in November. I smile, and extend my hand into my left pocket. She looks me up and down, as if I were to be fitted for a straight jacket, into Shutter Island. She sniffs the nostril hairs back into her nose, followed by her gliding fist ensuring all strands are retracted, her glossy gold bracelets jingle like rings on a shower curtain. she then says "That will be $12.55, paper or plastic?" I grin, showing my top row of saliva filled teeth, and snicker for a moment, knowing that my first pack of Corona was a very overrated "UN-carded" experience. The last great year celebrated in my life, over anticipated and highly overrated.
Since my year of birth, I've obtained a new Hawaii State ID, with a mugshot of me in a tanktop and head clocked back like a Cholo on a wanted poster. Celebrated my Anniversary weekend with the love of my life, my Bestfriend, Wife, My Chootari, introduced to her nearly all my coworkers. Ventured to bars across Oahu, and consumed many shots to the song of "LMFAO ft. Lil John" Attended, over four, +21 and over club Concerts, and bar/club events. From Local Reggae acts, to the sounds of the Jew formerly known as Matisyahu. Life is beautiful at 21. The month is almost over, and I've experienced beyond words can express. From the triumphs of success, to the pitts of hate, and stress. Life as I know it is just a sip from the glass recycled bottle. I've learned its time to smile a lot more, and keep living it to how I WANT TO LIVE IT. Ink'ed up, and fast as F*ck. Ya Dig.
